rock, paper, scissors Call to All Current Hamline GLS Students

rock, paper, scissors Call for Editorial Board Members and Submissions
Openings on all boards:  poetry, fiction, and CNF
Open only to current Hamline GLS students
Serving on a board does not bar you from submitting (though you can't vote for your own piece; it's not that kind of opportunity:))
If interested, send an email with your contact info and preferred genre to solson25@hamlineuniversity.edu or westegg@hamlineuniversity.edu ASAP.

For submitting, see info below.

Submission Information
rock, paper, scissors 2011
Submission Call for all Current Hamline GLS Students

Deadline: June 1, 2011
Poetry, Fiction, CNF

Mission: The editors of rock, paper, scissors believe in beginnings. A truly grassroots literary magazine, rps is meant to be a springboard into the world of publishing. We encourage writers and artists to use this forum to practice the art of submission, locally showcase writing or art that has been published elsewhere, and gain confidence in the process. We represent experiment and offer the energy and optimism of the emerging artist. This publication has been created for and is generated by students of the Graduate School of Liberal Studies at Hamline University.

To Submit:

  • You must be a current student in the GLS program at Hamline University.
  • Submit a cover letter—include your contact info as well as the title and genre of your submission.
  • Poetry: submit up to two poems, each no longer than two pages.
  • Prose: submit up to two pieces, each no more than 3,000 words. Note whether the submission is an excerpt or not. Please use 12-point font, double-spaced, and number the pages.
  • Your name must not appear on the submission copy—only in the cover letter.
  • Simultaneous submissions accepted as long as we are notified of publication elsewhere (in order to either withdraw the piece or run it with credit to the other publishing journal.)
  • All submissions must be emailed to westegg@hamlineuniversity.edu by June 1.
  • All contributors will receive a copy of the issue in which their work appears.

Regards,
Stephanie A. M. Olson
rps Editor-in-Chief
